Hello,
Thanks for checking in thats very responsible of you - yes you can borrow the car friday night.
We made it safely and successfully through our first Ester Drang European Tour. Many thanks to Rosie Thomas, Giles Hall, Harry Farmer, all who came to the shows, bought records, made us prawn and mayonaise sandwiches etc...
We are excited to announce a couple hometown-ish shows to close out the year. First, in our semi-adopted sorta hometown of Seattle WA we will be playing Dec 9th at the Crocodile with Rosie Thomas and Dave Bazan.
Second, we are pleased as punch to play in our proper Hometown - Tulsa OK on Dec 23rd at the historic Cain's Ballroom with the hero factor and ryan lindsay.
After the Holidays we will be hitting 2006 square in the jugular, and then nursing it back to health - Meaning - we will release our 3rd full length ROCINATE on Jan 24th and follow with touring plans that we will announce later....yes we will come to your town.
Hope to see you at one of the shows, otherwise enjoy the holidays, and pre-order Rocinate from jade tree. you'll be glad you did. wink!

we are pleased to announce...ester drang's new record "Rocinate" will be released on Jade Tree january 24th 2006. The band will be doing a preliminary tour in Europe with Sub Pop recording artist Rosie Thomas in november. Ester Drang will be playing an under-announced show this Thurs Sept 1 In Seattle Wa @ the Crocodile.
(It would basically be Unannounced if I hadn't ruined here with a late annoucement.) Nevertheless, do what you need to do to catch this special NW performance featuring special guest musicians Yukki Mathews and Casey Fobert sitting in with the drang.

We are in a transition to a new website, but in the meantime here's the news:
the new record "Rocinate" is poised to be released...we can't reveal the actual date just yet,,,but we can say its a bit later than we initially intended due to unforseen yet positive circumstances. BUT, we will be on a 3 week full US tour with a great band called styrofoam (www.styro.be) from belgium. That will happen in november...yes, this november. look for dates very soon.
in the interim, singer/composer Sufjan Stevens has been so generous to invite james and jeff from the drang to be his rhythm section for his current world tour. They will be all over the east coast in september (maybe you saw them on the west coast in late july?) so you should come say hello. They will also be covering some ground in the UK and Europe in october. Currently, they are starting a 5 night sold out run at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC.

Well we've talked about it for long enough, and now we can finally say that we have completed our new full length entitled ROCINATE. Quite a while in the making, the new record is in the can and only awaits music business bologna before it is released to all of good people. Many details to come - keep your eyes peeled for updates.
For those who can't wait to hear some of the new material there will be a limited number of summer apperances to take it all in live and in person.
