this will be my last post...let me start by saying thank you to all that have supported and prayed for dad and family over the past 2 years...the struggle continues and remains critical...i have said often that cancer is defeated on this blog...i didn't really know what that meant until this weekend...another trip to the hospital in st. louis found us staring death right in the face...it would have been easy for each of us to say " well this is it, looks like we can't do anything more." that's when i realized cancer is truly defeated...in the midst of that moment i felt that "peace that passes all understanding" that people talk about...and i realized that cancer is defeated, because it has been stripped of its power over my dad...when i got to the hospital he hugged me and cried saying "i'm sorry i'm putting you through this again," only to finish the sentence composing himself to say," its not right to think why is this happening to me, or that someone else deserves this more than i do. its going to be alright."...that is why cancer is defeated...

as i said this will be my last post...i have enjoyed most of my time in this effort...thank you to all the friends i have gained, i will miss you greatly...if it was my choice i would remain a part of this group, however it is not. for those of you who care i'm posting my personal email at the end of this. please feel obliged to contact me... this is not the end for me...

today, fri. the 20th my dad received the stem cells from his younger brother.

the past week has brought ups and downs. chemo started on fri. night ( we arrived early fri. morning ). mon. he began the high dose chemo, and he started feeling increasingly worse. he's now feeling better, even got up a couple times to walk around the floor. now he begins recovery and we wait to see if his body will accept the stem cells. your continued prayer is most appreciated.

hello. for everyone that has read this and is keeping up with the situation with my dad: we leave tomorrow for rolla, mo. from there fri. we will leave for st. louis, where my dad will begin a procedure called a stem cell transplant. basically they replace my dad' s immune system with a matching stem cell carrier (his brother). at this point it is or best option for a cure. obviously we are in full hope that this procedure will produce a cure, however we must also brace ourselves should it not. your continued thoughts and prayers are coveted and much appreciated. i will be updating this blog as i get info. i stand by statements i made on this blog earlier....cancer CAN NOT take hold of him, something far greater has already made its claim, love. i refuse to mask or glaze that statement over by not calling love by its true name, which is the God of our salvation, "I AM". ....more to come

so much needed good news was delivered this past weekend. my dad's younger brother is a match for a stem cell transplant! the doctors gave him the best chance by getting a stem cell transplant. this is great news, but its far from over. the operation should happen over the next few weeks so please have him in your thoughts and prayers. in other good news we settled with the insurance company this friday. which means we will be back in action very soon and with our own equipment and a new van.
