sterling williams:
sterling came to the band while james was playing in another band. before sterling,
the drang was on the verge of lulling listeners to sleep. he brought the rock
and the big drums. his addition was crucial to the drang finding their sound.
it forced james to experiment with the guitar and synths. sterling also brought
a lot of attitude to the table. the other guys were quiet and passive, but sw1
brought some passion and confrontation. a great drummer and a great friend was
lost when he left the band.
sterling trivia:
he has what is called a "snob record collection." he has no problem
getting rid of a record if it isn't just amazing.
sterling was the first member to have a wife and a child.
he's gone back to college to become a radio producer.

brian brewer:
around the time of goldenwest, the drang had many friends sit in on their sets:
violin, vibes, timpani, keyboards, sitar... yes, that is how brian first came
to the band. he played the sitar for a 45 minute jam at a local art show. being
a much more talented guitarist than indian guru, brian was soon asked to join
the band. his "quarter trick" fit like a puzzle piece into ester drang's
sound. but as well as he fit, he didn't stay long. about a year later brian left
the drang to pursue finical stability and the love of a girl and a beagle.
brian trivia:

brian spends too much time surfing the world wide web.

david motter:
some may remember the days when david and james had a huge keyboard station right
in the middle of the stage. it seemed as though they were the gears making the
machine go. "those were the funnest days for me. i thought there was a great
chemistry there," david reminisced. "i loved being up there. james and
i fed off of each other." it was hard for him to leave the band, but david
felt the time had come. he now spends his free time working on graphic design,
playing keyboards in a new band, and spending time with his girlfriend.
david trivia:
when he was a teenager, david wanted to be a rapper.
david is responsible for much of the design work associated with the drang: flyers,
merch, website...
david wrote the lyrics to the song "goldenwest" and the bridge of "repeating
the procedure" as well as singing on that bridge.
he has an extensive knowledge of the beach boys.
